WCE’s guest speaker, Deanna Burgart is a distinguished speaker, Indigeneer, business owner, and Schulich School of Engineering’s first Indigenous Engineer in Residence from 2018-2019 at the University of Calgary.
Deanna is currently a Teaching Chair at the University of Calgary focused on weaving Indigenous knowledge and perspectives in engineering.

Deanna will share her inspiring journey as a woman in consulting engineering embracing her Indigenous heritage and will discuss infusing Indigenous ways of knowing, doing, and connecting with engineering practices to create projects that are both innovative and culturally attuned.
