LightenUP! Luminaire Building Competition
LightenUP! is one of the IES Calgary Chapter’s most anticipated events, designed to spark creativity, collaboration, and plenty of laughs. This casual, hands-on evening brings together professionals from across the electrical and lighting industry – whether you have decades of experience or are just getting started, everyone is welcome!
Participants will be randomly divided into teams and given 120 minutes to design and build a functional luminaire based on a surprise theme. Using common everyday objects, a provided light source, and an assortment of materials, teams will put their imagination and problem-solving skills to the test.
New this year, we’re upping our game with optional power tools and simple construction materials for those who want to push their designs even further.
Snacks and beverages will be available throughout the evening, and attendees are welcome to actively participate or simply spectate and enjoy the creative energy in the room.
Come ready to collaborate, experiment, and have fun -LightenUP! is all about creativity without pressure and connection without formality.
